The collapse of the Fundão dam in Brazil caused one biggest environmental disasters. One challenges was how to manage tailings so that affected areas could be reused. This study aimed verify whether applying different irrigation depths Xaraés grass grown with iron mining would affect shoot and root dry masses. experiment set up a randomized design five (40%, 60%, 80%, 100%, 120% crop evapotranspiration) two additional treatments (grass soil conditioner, natural soil), each three repetitions. cut four times, mass evaluated after cut, while at end experiment. Our results showed had positive linear effect on an exponentially increasing mass, highest averages treatment evapotranspiration. even adverse conditions, able grow develop well.
